They should try FM, and maybe petition the FCC for approval to run more power Were it to become a consumer band, it would be trivial to overlay FHSS operation and turn those channels into many talk groups and get much more utility from them Simplex probably the best case solution as repeaters are going be tricky due to noise variability

The FCC website is unreasonably klunky and bloated - but why should it be different from the rest of the government??? LOL I have a GMRS and Amateur license, I'd love to see lists like this of verified LEGAL model numbers, the whole GMRS MURS spectrum is muddled in confusion from the regulations

Can somebody explain what the FCC codes such as FB, FB2, FX1, etc mean I guess the only one im familier with is MO - mobile I am tring to sort through hundreds of frequencies and pull out the input freqs Thanks in advance!

The FCC database showed the available call sign I was after (2nd choice) as being cancelled one day after I applied So I amended my application and it now shows my date as one-day after another person's application for the same callsign
