- Can someone explain FSR? : r Amd - Reddit
FSR renders a game at a low resolution and then upscales it ? And that gives big performance boosts? Yes, it's a quick upscaling algorithm that takes the current frame and upscales it to final output resolution So it can even be implemented by third-party like Lossless Scaling or Magpie Is image quality made better or worse with this?

FSR 1 2 (FidelityFX Super Resolution) AMD's non-AI upscaler that has to be integrated into games Uses additional information from the game itself to more intelligently upscale a lower resolution image into a higher one This generally results in a better quality upscale than RSR, but requires integration into each game

- Can someone please explain FSR and when to (and when not to . . . - Reddit
FSR 1 0 is a filtering method, all it does is get a low resolution image and stretch it up higher resolution, but it has a sharper look than bilinear FSR 1 0 is good because it can be used on almost any game and does not require developers to add it, it also costs almost nothing to run FSR 2 0 on the other hand is a temporal upscaling method like DLSS, it provides a better looking result

DLSS, 1 FSR, 1 TSR (Both FSR and TSR look low res in fast changing animation sequences) DLSS, 2 FSR, 2 TSR (TSR and FSR seem to swallow up some of the particles , and don't look very clean TSR is the worst) DLSS, 3 FSR, 3 TSR (Only DLSS ended up looking solid when the wind hit) Interesting that TSR and FSR share similar limitations
- What is the best upscaler ? (TSR or FSR) : r unrealengine - Reddit
If specifically TSR and FSR 3 0 (I think it's not out yet actually, but from what AMD was telling, the upscaler is the same as latest FSR 2, major difference is frame gen): TSR felt to me like had a better image stability, although I bet with some tweaks it's possible to get FSR to the same level FSR 3 0 has frame generation tech, TSR currently doesn't have (and I don't remember it being
- What is the scaling of each FSR Pre-set and is it fixed or . . . - Reddit
So usually there are 4 pre-sets for FSR: Ultra-Performance, Performance, Balanced and Quality To my understanding if you are on a 1080p screen each of the pre-sets use resolutions as follows: Quality - 720p Balanced - 640p Performance - 540p Ultra-Performance - 360p Am I right? And do all games that have FSR stick to this? Also regarding the "Quality" pre-set I read that it can potentially
