- motorcycle - Stator and Rotor vs Magneto - Motor Vehicle Maintenance . . .
A magneto system like in a lawnmower, with a permanent magnet on a flywheel passing an induction coil and transformer, connected to the spark plug A stator with several sets of windings on it, and a flywheel rotor with permanent magnets on it, connected to the spark plug through a coil
- Anyone else ran into this BR600 ignition problem?!?
I was diagnosing a BR600 today It had no spark, so I pulled off the coil, making sure to account for those two plastic washers I always thought they were soley there to shift the coil to where it tracks right in the center of the magnets on the flywheel I noticed one of them was
- What does a flywheel do and what is it connected to?
A flywheel serves four main purposes (in most vehicles): It provides mass for rotational inertia to keep the engine in motion It is specifically weighted to provide balance for the crankshaft It provides a means to get the engine started (starter ring) It provides a connection for power transfer between the engine and transmission (along with the clutch it also provides a means to interrupt
- Has Anyone Ever Seen a Bad Flywheel Cause No Spark?
The darn thing has no spark I figured a bad coil, but much to my surprise, if I swapped a different flywheel in, the saw had spark The flywheel has a broken fin that did some damage to the flywheel The magnets got ground down a bit The stock flywheel has two magnets covers with a plastic membrane and a plastic divider between the two
- MS 261 C No spark (coil?) - Arborist, Chainsaw Tree Work Forum
First thing to try is a new plug Install it and see if you get spark After that, check your magneto air gap, test your short circuit switch and associated wires Make sure the boot makes a good connection it's seated well over the coil cable Also look at flywheel magnets, if they're blue = bad
- Stihl Ignition Module Air Gap. . . - Arborist, Chainsaw Tree Work Forum
Here's the problem, the stihl setting gage seems to set the air gap too tight, like 0 004" measured between the ignition module arms and the flywheel magnets using a feeler gage set
- Flywheels with cast in key - how to repair sheared key?
All right, is there a standard accepted way to repair these kind of flywheels if a key gets sheared, or are you supposed to simply replace the entire
- chevrolet - 4. 3 350 Chevy flywheel interchangeable? - Motor Vehicle . . .
I have a 1997 S10 I'm thinking of doing a V8 swap with in the future does anyone know if the flywheel off of a 4 3 Chevy would work on a older 350 Since they’re basically identical minus 2 cylinder
