The garage is 100% residential- not a business The first floor has lights outlets, the second floor only has a preexisting light fixture (exterior light) from the original house and no added wiring

Is a private garage also a parking garage I can see this answer going both ways, with out the aid of definitions Or is a parking garage the same as an open garage only with walls If so, then a parking garage and private garage are the same I have tried to treat them as 3 distinct types of buildings, private garage, parking garage, open garage

So if you had a monolithic foundation and put the 10ft max stud walls on it, the ceiling height would be 10ft (not including any special trusses) But if you poured a footer and had the stem wall go 3' above grade but poured the floor at grade, the ceiling height could be well over 10ft Is this allowed? This is for a detached garage under 2015
