I usually read a combination of KSL, KUTV, Deseret News, Salt Lake Tribune, and Daily Herald for local news but you've always got to give it the good college try and do the author, audience, content, purpose, etc for everything you read

KTVX just doesn't care Beyond that, you're going to have to dig up neighborhood news from the Valley Journals, as well as good reporting from the City Weekly and KUER, but in more limited quantities Podcasts like CityCast Salt Lake are good to but very local Building Salt Lake is a good source of local development and zoning issues
