- Ghostty: A New Terminal Emulator Written in Zig - Reddit
I witnessed Rust taking off in terms of popularity, and also saw some other languages trying to beat the game of „get some traction“ When I found out about Zig, I wondered if it could manage to become popular or if it was destined to eventually bit-rot alongside the dozens of other C successors And I really wonder: Is it Zig’s explicitness? It’s C-like syntax? It’s meta programming
- iTerm2 vs Alacritty vs Kitty, which is best for my use? - Reddit
Much thanks for everyone's recommendations (I see some interesting ones in there like Hyper and Ghostty) :D Hi all, I'm interested in finding an alternative for Terminal app (macOS) On searching, the most common 4 names come up: iTerm2, Alacritty, WezTerm, and Kitty
- Wezterm or Tmux Alacritty : r neovim - Reddit
Going to setup Neovim together with a terminal multiplexer But cannot decide Should I go for Wezterm alone (build in mulitplexer) or alacritty tmux? Pros and con for both?
- Whats the most performant terminal? : r neovim - Reddit
Yes, I have the same feeling I am currently in the beta test program of Ghostty and the experience has been amazing Reply reply ManyConstant6588 •
- Wezterm or Kitty. : r neovim - Reddit
31 votes, 109 comments trueI’ve used both, kitty first and then wezterm I decided to stick with wezterm almost entirely because it’s scripted in lua, which matches my other scripting (neovim, awesomewm, etc ) also the fact that wezterm is written in rust whereas kitty is written in python c if these aren’t important to you, they’re almost identical in features - gpu accelerated
- Should I use wezterm with tmux? : r tmux - Reddit
I believe having a control over a multiplexer that you can move with to other terminals in the future (Ghostty 👀) and remote servers is super important Moreover, with plugins and extensions Tmux can do much more than Wezterm or Kitty for that matter that comes with exceptional multiplexing control
- which terminal emulator do you recommend? : r linuxmasterrace
I thought it was ugly at was first but transparency, borders, and no scrollbar race made it as pretty as urxvt while being faster I recommend Luke smith's build as it has many useful patches already done Reply reply GmLucifer • Reply reply TheHighGroundwins • Reply reply More repliesMore repliesMore replies funk443 • Xfce terminal Reply reply laniusone •
- Thought on the new Warp terminal? : r neovim - Reddit
It seems like it basically wraps the traditional terminal and adds a lot of modern text entry features There's more but I'm just curious how my fellow neovimmers feel about it
