I understand Iridium is known as a superior product (though GlobalStar was better pre-satellite failure from my research on this) but GlobalStar's pricing is very attractive right now Usage would be mostly as a call in to arrange pick up and stuff like that on multiday or long day mountain bike or hiking trips (point to point stuff)

Here is the kicker currently the plan we have on the phone with globalstar is a pay as you use type plan and there is no monthly fee We negotiated this when they had some satellites go down and have managed to keep it till now but they notified us that come august we will have to go back to a minimum monthly plan of $30 month
