No Glowforge is proprietary and uses their servers to process your job If they go bust, your machine is a brick Internet problem? You can't use it
- What’s the average lifespan of a Glowforge? : r glowforge - Reddit
It is expensive Many times the cost of a Glowforge, but it is MUCH faster, more powerful, and incredibly durable and well made Plus, the laser tube lasts many years, and can be recharged (unlike the disposable Glowforge tubes)

The problem with the image as it is is that Glowforge will read the file as a solid rectangle of image as long as that white is in there I strongly suggest signing up for an app like Skillshare and doing some Photoshop projects

I had to have my Glowforge replaced 5 times within my first year After the 2nd replacement they started sending brand new machines instead of their standard refurbished, but even the new machines would have issues I now have a Thunder Laser (35 100) and haven’t had a single issue with the machine since I got it in January
- Has anyone already replaced the laser tube at home? : r glowforge - Reddit
Replacing a laser tube is not to be taken lightly You will be dealing with lethally high voltages I do not own a Glowforge, I have an older 60 watt laser Replacing it is straight forward, it is the follow on procedures that can give you fits Laser alignment, using the right cooling fluid, plain ole tap water may not work
