I just acquired a WWII RAF WO Greatcoat (also a really cool Belgian Greatcoat) It's awesome but of course VERY heavy, stiff and scratchy Is there any way to "break it in"? I've read some posts around the net about soaking wool in hair conditioner but I definitely don't want to try it

Im not fully aware of the difference between this and a pea coat A pea coat is much shorter - car-coat or even jacket length (it should, of course, cover the jacket if one is worn underneath) A greatcoat is long enough to cover the knee, so the excellent coat you have been writing about is a greatcoat
