Open Word files *without* opening linked Excel files I have a Word file with linked tables from two Excel files It takes several minutes for the Word file to open, because Windows opens the Excel files automatically and I have to click through ten Excel dialog boxes about updating links etc

Online documents wont open in Word - Microsoft Community Are you able to start Word and create, save and the re-open other documents? Try downloading the documents to your local drive and then try opening them via File>Open in Word
Can only open Microsoft Word in Safe Mode Whenever I attempt to start Word 2007 it won't open, I stop the process then attempt again and I get a message that says Word did not open correctly would you like to open Word in safe mode If I answer yes it starts in safe mode I am running Vista SP2 I just did a clean install on a new hard drive Office was the first program I installed
