Which series of drums Gretsch USA Custom and Ludwig Classic Maple would you prefer for rock, pop, funk, blues, jazz and even country and why? I realize the diffence in shell composition, hoops, etc and the effects that will have on the sound

The Gretsch are really good drums, but they're still a mid-level kit whereas the Ludwig is a pro-level kit So, if re-sale is ever an issue, you will get more money for the Ludwig
