I took greyhound a lot when I was in college and grad school The major east coast routes between Boston, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington DC are nice Newish buses, leave from a fine part of town, etc The couple of times I took greyhound in the south was much less good Old smelly buses, stations were in sketchy areas
