After looking through more than a few posts here, talking with quite a few makers, I've narrowed the list down to KMG-TX, TW-90, Wilmont, Reeder or Northridge The TW-90 only has one tool arm slot, 1 25" arms and tracking adjustmentat the motor, which seems to make it an outlier in the market

A comment on the compression vs tension springs The first grinder I built was a pretty close copy of the KMG clone with tension spring Tracking was so-so For whatever reason, I never fully understood why, but after I changed to compression the tracking improved It might be nothing more than the amount of tension that was put on the belt

For grinder use, put VFD in box or good filters over the air inlet and they work just fine for a fraction of the cost Can't imagine one being easier to setup then the last Chinese VFD I got It has a very good English manual with only a few pages and only 33 (??) parameters that can be changed, and only 2 or 3 of those actually need changing

Gosh I hate that static shock thing at the grinder!! I didn't read through all responses, but can tell you that it has a lot to do with humidity At anything less then 45% static becomes huge issue in my shop, with any machine Either grounding as has been mentioned, or what I do is a humidifier in the shop

The 120vac grinder you are speaking of - this one? https: goo gl kjKfA4 I'd be happier if it were on a 1750 rpm motor rather than 3450 rpm motor, but either will work just fine A VFD speed control is VERY important for a disk grinder I made one using a 1725 rpm 1ph motor, and tried to control speed with a foot switch, but that didn't work so

The misting topic is a good point for an aluminum grinder, but I wet my belts with a sponge and haven't had any major rusting issues on my AmeriBrade yet after doing that for a couple of years I run their small wheel attachment, Combo platen with 6" rubber and 2" rubber wheels
