My instructor uses a version of "GUMPFS" His version is " PCGUMPFS" Power (reduce to decend), Carb Heat, Gas proper tank, Undercarriage (down and locked), Mixture, Props, Flaps, Switches and Safety Belts I say it outloud every trip around the pattern Since flying the Tripe however, I reverse the order of the first two putting Carb Heat on prior to reducing power, which came at the suggestion

So this is a question I've had for some time: When, where, who, what particular plane was the first PA-22 converted to PA-22 20 configuration? To me that story and airplane are kind of noteworthy, no? I found this article from the December 1980 issue of Flying magazine titled "Try Again Pacer"

I don't think after all my time in different type planes I would [always] remember to re-snug my shoulder harness on short final I do check everyones seat belts tight at least twice on approach and downwind using the GUMPS check (The "S" is seat belts) The big question I have and the reason I started this post:
