Re: Opinions on the Victor HMV No 4 soundbox by OrthoFan » Mon Apr 20, 2009 12:20 pm I think, for its time, the #4 sound box offered a viable solution to playing the newly introduced electrical recordings According to Baumbach, etc , it was designed to produce a flatter frequency range than earlier Victor sound boxes

The slot in the tonearm I think is just a fraction too far back so although the soundboxes go on, they won't rotate into position My HMV 162 takes all 3 soundboxes just fine, though the Victor made Exhibition is slightly less tight, however this could be for a number of reasons
