Failure to walk in to the driver license office and exchange your HazMat CDL for a non-HazMat CDL will cancel your CDL Obviously, if you want to keep your HM endorsement, renew it But, if you want to drop your HM you have to walk into your state's driver license office and exchange it for a CDL without the HM endorsement on it

Technically, a shipment of UN2794 batteries is still legally consider hazmat because it is still subject to certain requirements of the DOT HMR HOWEVER, UN2794 batteries do NOT require placarding or a hazmat endorsement on the driver's CDL when shipped compliant with 49 CFR 173 159e (also known as the wet battery exception)

- How long does it take to actually recieve hazmat endorsement???
I really don't want to wait an extra month to start driving Just curious for anyone who's recently gotten the hazmat or hazmat+tanker endorsement how long it took to process and actually receive the endorsement and if this held up getting employed?
