You could use "from January to the present" or now rather than today You could also simply say "since January" You might also want to specify exactly when rather than January "Since the start of January" When saying from X to Y you may need to explicitly state if X and Y are included or not

January and February have some really cool festivals! There's the hot air balloon festival in Château D'Oex, the festival of Cold in Les Brevins, Murten Light Festival, dog sledding festivals in various places (Saignelégier is a good one) It will be cold, but i don't think there is a bad time to come
