  • Unanswered - LPS questions | Reef2Reef
I have been in the hobby about a year and previously had some LPS SPS in a nano tank Upgraded to a 35g w 10 gallon sump My frogspawn and hammer seem to not be liking something the tank change Parameters are nearly the same and we’re slowly acclimated PH 8 2 ALK 8 5 CAL 400 MG 1350-1400 temp
  • Difference between SPS, LPS, Soft Corals, and more.
Both LPS and SPS are further broken down by a number of factors including polyp tentacle shape and growth pattern Note that in this hobby it is not uncommon for trade names, common hobbyist names, and scientific names (both correct, incorrect, outdated and up to date) to be used in conjunction with each other and interchangeably
  • Dual Reef Journey: 45G Shallow Mixed Reef + 50G LPS Garden Build
Dive Into My Reef Adventure! 🐠🪸 45G Shallow Mixed Reef 50G LPS Garden Introduction Greetings, Reef2Reef community I am documenting my first venture into reef keeping: a 45-gallon shallow tank (36"L x 18"W x 12"H) + Sump and 50G LPS System (20"x20"x20") + Sump After months of research
  • best LPS FOOD AND Feeder | Reef2Reef
normally I feed the tank my DIY fish food and the LPS do get some floaters from that but I would like to start target feeding 2x week my new LPS will be acans, war coral, scroll, more trachys , hamer and torches to go with my duncans and the rest of my LPS so i was thinking reefroids and the 5mm pellets just not sure what is the "best" tool
  • LPS Dominant Reef - Superb Aquascape! | Reef2Reef
This is just my opinion from seeing many reef aquariums over the years, but pulling off an aesthetically pleasing LPS dominant system is not so easy a task (excluding Euphyllia dominant tanks as there are many finely aqua scaped examples) I'm specifically referring to those that predominantly feature 'round-ish' LPS
  • What is PAR and how much do we need? | Reef2Reef
Such as LPS corals can handle greater PARs up to 500, and soft corals will adjust to PAR over 200 with adequate time to adjust so they can adapt to a wide range of lighting over time The lighting schedule can also play a huge role in the success of the reef aquarium regarding PAR levels
  • Goniopora and Manganese | Reef2Reef
So when I had my Fluval Flex 15 I kept 3-4 Goni's with no issues, they were thriving and I wasn't dosing anything It was mostly a LPS tank with some zoas and 1-2 monti I also ran a macroalgae refugium which i've read depletes is very quickly I upgraded to a 65G system at the start of the year and have gotten no polyp extension from my Goni's
  • Best Lights for Frag Tank, 48x24x15 | Reef2Reef
For LPS you don't need a ton of light You could realistically do it with 2x AI Primes, but you'd likely have some shadowing (not a huge deal for LPS) If you're going "budget", I'd say a pair of the Nicrew Gen 2 lights would be decent Radion spectrum and Radion spread, but much lower price I'd recommend the controller with them too
