- What are the best LPS corals for beginners? | Reef2Reef
Hi all, for my tank I have decided to start with the lowest maintenance corals, softies, but eventually I would like to move onto some simpler LPS corals My question is, how much more demanding are LPS corals compared to soft corals? I know I’ll have to start monitoring for PO4 and alkalinity
- LPS Dominant Reef - Superb Aquascape! | Reef2Reef
LPS Dominant 40g from Germany There are a couple real interesting things here Temps in the very low 70's, feeding 3x day, magnetic coral modules on the back wall (each grouping specific genus species of LPS) I really like the judicious use of Gorgonians strategically and effectively placed to breakup all that round goodness

- Optimal phosphate level? (Mixed Reef) | Reef2Reef
What should a good phosphate level be for a mixed reef be (SPS,LPS, softies)? My phosphate levels were around a 0 15ppm and I was told that was to low so I brought it up to a 0 30ppm but I think that’s to high What should it be around?

What is the nitrate uptake competition between LPS and micro macro coralline algaes? Will the faster growing algaes use the nitrate before the LPS can? Or are the slowing growing LPS corals getting enough at the moment? If not, how much time do I have to balance my PO4 and NO3, before the corals will be affected? Some thoughts
