TheVX series from Leupold is lighter and built for dedicated hunting rifles They aren't designed to handle the kind of abuse the mark series or the nightforce scopes are They are excellent optics, and the VX6 series glass is a little better optical quality than the NX8 to my eyes, and a fine option if you won't be beating it up pretty bad

Leupold customer service is top notch and turn arounds in the custom shop are fast Leupold also has a reticle cant feature in the scope which I really like for long shots It definitely helps out in the field Zeiss doesn't have that or an illuminated reticle for that matter Leupold gets my vote

Re: Leupold 1 1-8 CQBSS review While I applaud Leupold's success with this model (go USA!), there are other, less expensive and possibly better solutions for my own shooting None of the Leupold, S B or Premier 1-8x scopes seems to have a rapid transition between 1x and 4-8x, and the change requires the use of a hand to make the adjustment

Alright so I am ordering a 6 5 Creedmoor DPMS Rifle next week or the week after courtesy of the IRS and have been at optics for it and wanted some opinions The two scopes I am looking at currently are a Leupold Mark 4 ER or LR 6 5-20 which prodeals for 950-1150 (LR ER) Or Nightforce

The reticle on the leupold is quite difficult to see at the bottom of the magnification range, but that doesn’t matter if you’re wanting to shoot longer distance frequently Other drawback is the 5-6oz weight gain over the Vortex The vortex is certainly more geared towards the hunting market and the Mk4 is definitely more of a shooting optic
