Posted April 8, 2018 I own two Lew’s and eleven Daiwas That’s not to say a Lews isn’t a quality reel, I just prefer a Daiwa Aftermarket parts are much easier to find for the Daiwas if you ever decide you want to upgrade and not purchase a whole new reel

Lews high end reels cant be compared with Zillions and Metaniums, as they are more on Par with the Tatula SLX Curado lines (Lews works like this, take every reel they make and take away 25-40%, thats what it is worth and goes on sale for) And im a big Lews fan I think the Gen 3 designs across the board is much better, from fit, finish, and looks

I got the lews 1) because I wanted to try a baitcaster, and 2, I got it because I felt that the specs would be a good compliment to my spinning rod I fish mostly ponds and a couple small lakes, laydowns, rocks, pads, grass but nothing super thick 85% of the time I'm using either a weightless senko, senko+bullet weight, poppers or a jitterbug
