I bought a Lightspeed Delta Zulu at Sun n Fun this year Main reason was for the adjustable profile for your hearing and the CO detector Both of those work great The one thing that vexes me is the mic gain adjustment When I first got them, I was hard to get the sidetone to break through, even with the mic touching my lips

Lightspeed should step-up and take care of those headsets that have the problem, through no fault of the owner Hearing that they gave you a new cable after you (unintentionally) damaged the newly repaired cable reinforces my point

1) Check the smaller PJ-068 (smaller connection) mic plug on your headset Make sure that it is not bent at any of the conductor zones (between black bands) If it is bent, I would not recommend attempting to bend it back unless you are confident in success You would need to have either me or Lightspeed replace that connection

I learned that Lightspeed headsets are not allowed at my employer In my plane, I use LS exclusively but I they will be Comanche only headsets now Personal Headsets Pilots may use FAA approved personal headsets, if the headset is manufactured in accordance with TSO-C139, TSO-C57 and TSO-C58
