I have visited the Louvre at least three times at without a guide I found the information desk to be quite helpful I noticed they had a map brochure of the more popular works that many want to see Or use the tour in the RS guidebook, but just go to the parts of the museum that interest you and your sons Also, look beyond that Louvre is a museum It is a former palace so note the

The tickets section of the Louvre website may include its late-arrival policy Assuming the Louvre is still selling tickets on site (I haven't checked), there will be separate lines for those with tickets and those needing to buy tickets

The Louvre made a large price change all at once which makes it rather noticeable And BTW according to other news sources, Versailles, Chambord, the Opéra Garnier, the Conciergerie, and the Arc de Triomphe may adopt similar price increases for non residents

I also value the magazine produced by Les Amis du Louvre, but note that it’s entirely in French The membership gets you a discount (I forget if it’s 5 or 10%) at the gift shop, bookstore, and all dining venues

Wondering if the Louvre audioguide is an efficient planning strategy What are the options available on the audioguide--i e is there a highlights tour? (When we were at the Prado in Spain, the highlights tour was an option and it GREATLY helped me navigate and not go crazy)
