- Open season: MHBP std worth it? : r fednews - Reddit
MHBP standard? Hello, Open season has arrived My family and I are thinking about switching from BCBS Basic which overall was pretty good, but as…
- Thinking of MHBP (456) : r fednews - Reddit
I'm on MHBP and in Baltimore and everything's been super smooth in network (mostly at Hopkins) Out of network was only a pain the first time around because my provider wasn't yet experienced coding telehealth for insurance (practice doesn't take any insurance at all), but Aetna has been super smooth processing the claims
- MHBP STANDARD OPTION : r fednews - Reddit
Have not gone through pregnancy, but MHBP Standard has served my family well, including trips to ER and hand surgery It is essentially an Aetna plan Yes, pay a small union fee each year If you go through the Summary of Benefits and Coverage of each plan, at the bottom is a scenario for childbirth and your out of pocket estimate
- MHBP vs Blue Cross Standard : r fednews - Reddit
I can't comment on MHBP but I've had both GEHA HDHP and Blue Cross Standard I strongly prefer GEHA I feel like I've received about the same medical coverage from both I really like that GEHA includes basic dental and vision with their HDHP That means that I don't have to track and manage 3 different policies
- FEHB Comparison Request: GEHA HDHP vs MHBP HDHP : r fednews - Reddit
MHBP is the winner here assuming you don't value the basic dental vision being worth 284 48 (I certainly do) Things to consider include: If you do need to see a doctor, are they in-network GEHA uses HSA Bank where 100% can be invested (no cash reserve) through either TD Ameritrade or Denvir
- BCBS vs MHBP - what am I missing? : r fednews - Reddit
BCBS vs MHBP - what am I missing? We have had BCBS basic for over a decade and have been generally happy, but the price increases have finally forced us to look at other options We have done the math and at this point are down to staying with BCBS or moving to MHBP Standard
- Evaluating 2024 FEHB options : r fednews - Reddit
Remember that copays and fees (with regard to HDHP) only matter once you've exceeded your deductible So if your family needs $4000 worth of medical treatment, you're guaranteed to pay $4k with MHBP (due to the deductible), whereas GEHA will be $3200 (deductible) + 10% of $800 (or $3280) for the same treatment (based on 2024 rates)
- 2023 GEHA Standard vs MHBP Standard : r fednews - Reddit
Definitely MHBP I switched from GEHA for the better network (Aetna for all states vs UHC's garbage network in most of the country for GEHA), lower negotiated prescription prices, and comparable copays and premiums
