The iStent trabecular micro-bypass stent is a "minimally invasive glaucoma surgery" (MIGS) intended to provide a modest reduction in intraocular pressure by direct cannulation of Schlemm's canal to improve aqueous outflow According to one review of the literature, patients who undergo impantation of one of these devices can expect 3-10% of additional pressure reduction over cataract surgery
