Maybe the 27 inch models are different I don't think so, at least not according to MacTracker When I purchased my 21 5" 2011 iMac it came preinstalled with 10 6 6 just as "krs" said I also received 2 DVDs specific to that particular iMac Additionally I had a retail Snow Leopard DVD that I purchased for an older MacBook Pro
