marcum’s QC has been kind of dumpy over the past few years even their mechanical flashers vexilar really swung and missed on the proview but a flx28 with a tri beam is a nice unit i still prefer my lx5

For Marcum, can’t beat the Quest HD and Pursuit HD for image quality Marcum came out with an Explorer HD model this year which is a stripped down Quest…basically it’s just the camera image on the display and no on-screen display of direction, temp, depth

Marcum claims it will run on 8 hours per charge I’ll check that this weekend The field of view is different on both cameras I don’t have the specs in front of me but you’ll see a wider field of view with the 485 over the Recon 5+ With any luck I’ll have some Recon 5+ video next week

The marcum is an expensive backup unit 90% of the time The maps and GPS on the Humminbird are a big reason, but I also like the menu layout and sonar better on the Humminbird
