marcum’s QC has been kind of dumpy over the past few years even their mechanical flashers vexilar really swung and missed on the proview but a flx28 with a tri beam is a nice unit i still prefer my lx5

Hey guys I was curious what the pros and cons of each unit are I was looking into the the fl-8 unit and I believe the marcum lx-1 Both would be used for ice fishing I Would only be paying roughly $220 for the lx1 and $240 for the fl8 if that makes a difference at all

The Marcum has 2 LED lights where the Aqua-Vu has 6 or 8 but the Marcum camera shows a wider view and requires less light with a less grainy image This will come in handy if you fish at dusk, dawn or fish the night bite

I assume marcum uses the same technology as all the other ones, if it's not the ducer, it could be the brushes on the motor, that's how the unit transmits the information to the lights on the flasher and causes the flashing should be simple enough to open the unit up and take a look at those

Thanks for the offer Bret I have an LX 5 as well, so I will try my transducer on the unit when I get a chance Perch puddle… ive yet to catch a Perch in that slew However, so far this ice season, anytime the Marcum finds a ledge dropping down to ~17 ft, there seems to be tasty critters that are hungry I’ve tried dozens of different jigs and baits, but I find myslef always returing to the

Marcum LX-3tc about $389 99 or something close to that, its going to have advantages against the vexilar one being the Interference Rejection, its going to block out your vexilar That being said you may want to buy 2 LX-3tc’s and sell your vexilar because I’ve heard 2 vexilars don’t always fish good side by side I have a LX-3tc and my dad has a VX-1Pro and we can fish side by side
