I’m looking at tours to Switzerland for post-COVID travel and one itinerary includes Zermatt and the Matterhorn and another includes Grindelwald and Jungfraujoch If you had to choose one which would you prefer and why?

- Gorgergrat and Matterhorn Glacier Paradise in the same day?
If you do both in 1 day ; buy a Peak Pass Head up to Klein Matterhorn in the morning, then on the way down get off at Furi ; not Zermatt and take the Riffelberg Express (is a small cable car) from Furi to Riffelalp ; then the train from Riffelalp to the top of Gornergrat From top of Gornergrat you can take the train all the way down to Zermatt or do the walk I mentioned as part of the way down
- How to get to Zermatt from Chamonix - Rick Steves Travel Forum
I believe you will find bus service from Geneva airport to Chamonix Chamonix to Zermatt is straight forward: train to Valorcine where you change to a waiting Swiss train to Martigny, then a train to Visp, then a train to Zermatt There are lots of hotels in Zermatt My favorite is the Hotel Ambiance, one of the last family owned and operated hotels in Zermatt They have Matterhorn-view rooms

Loved the Grindelwald area - we had 4 days there around 18 months ago Loved Zermatt even more so - easy walking routes in the latter were stunning with the Monte Rosa group and the Matterhorn Drier area I understand, than Grindelwald Thought the scenery was more impressive again than the Eiger area (though that was superb too )
