Duncan's third wife was Helen McGregor Children: Alexander, Margaret, Mary, Kate The double up in names, may have meant the first born Alexander had died by the time Duncan re-married for the third time at age 60yrs I'm assuming Kate was short for Kathleen, being that there was already a Catherine? There is also a William McGregor listed on the 1800 census of Northampton County who is more than likely the William you are looking for There evidently was a law in effect at this time that said every McGregor had to name at least one child William This William is probably the William named in John McGregor's will, proven in 1797 in Anson County, although John also lived in Northampton John's
