Not Toyota-reliable But solid Consumer Reports rated the 17-18 Outlander as "well above average" reliability I'm not saying they make good cars, but are they going to be at least as reliable as your average Ford or VW? We love our Mitsubishi mini splits but only use them for AC, not heat I'd suggest taking a video of the sound so your HVAC technician can hear what's happening We do hear occasional little pops or the sound of water but that's typically from the condensate pump
