- How do you get bit-perfect playback on the Apple Music app?
Unlike Tidal's exclusive mode for Windows, I can hear notifications, keyboard sounds, lock sounds, etc , while playing music with the Tidal or AM app The volume buttons and slider are disabled, but all other sounds (notifications, videos, etc ) are still mixed with the music
- Schiit Freya + passive mode, Bechmark LA4, Topping pre90
In the meantime, I get to use the passive mode and the solid state mode and I got to say surprisingly I am not sure if I miss the tube stage!! (I will get it fixed regardless) Please excuse my newbie question So the passive preamp mode of the Freya + had been reviewed and measured here at absolutely transparent with sinad of 121db
- Sennheiser Momentum 4 - Audio Science Review (ASR) Forum
Does anyone know how the wired connections on the Sennheiser Momentum 4 work? You can connect digitally via USB-C, or via an analogue headphone cable I wondered if the USB-C connection allows for higher bit rates than via bluetooth, and if the analogue connection bypasses any ADC DAC process?
- ASIO, WASAPI, Direct Sound. . . is there any difference in sound quality?
WASAPI can be bit perfect and even in shared mode it uses high quality resampler Generally speaking though, when it comes to pure quality, it can't get any better than what exclusive WASAPI can offer Not entirely sure how Direct Sound is handled in Windows 10 but it's either equal to WASAPI shared mode or worse

- Stand alone audio interface - Audio Science Review (ASR) Forum
Yes, there are lots of interfaces that work in standalone mode, some with limitations, other with full blown abilities The RME FireFace UCX II or the UFX range (II and III) cand do everything you want in standalone mode and can even have saved routing presets in its internal memory to quickly change configs without spending too much time
- Topping DX3 PRO + Output modes - Audio Science Review (ASR) Forum
My question is, even if I unhook the speakers, the sound through headphones is pretty different between the two modes Presumably both are using the DAC even though the "0-3" mode actually says "DAC" on the display and the "0-2" mode doesnt What's causing this and which mode is better to use if I am just listening through headphones? Thanks!
- USB Audio Gadget (Raspberry as USB DSP DAC) - Moode audio
This is usually referred as USB Audio Gadget mode (dtoverlay=dwc2) This allows the raspberry to be seen as a soundcard via usb connector, aka you get audio input via the usb socket without adding another HAT It was a cumbersome procedure years ago as it was not supported in kernel and there wasn't camilladsp around at the time
