The Muise name was originally Mius-d'Entremont, the line is past on from Philippe Mius-d'Entremont through his son, another Philip who married a native My maiden name was Muise, I've done my complete line to the original Philip and the only native connection I've found is from the Jr Philip

The spelling in NS is always MUISE (pronounced mee-OOZ) But the original name (1600's from France) was MIUS or MUIS (moo-EESS) This is one of the original French "Acadien" (later Cajun in Louisiana) names of New France A number of Muise later married First Nations (native) people Would your Edward Charles or his son perhaps have aboriginal blood ?
