- Electric field norm - what is it? - COMSOL
This may be a stupid question, but I am brand new to COMSOL so please be patient with me When I'm processing results, say plotting 2D surface plots, COMSOL provides a list of expressions it can evaluate But how do I know what these are exactly? What, for example, is being plotted when I select emw normE (electric field norm) Is that the electric field magnitude of the component normal to
- What is the expression of the instantaneous electric field . . . - COMSOL
The variable emw normE is the magnitude of the complex vector This magnitude is fixed, as the phase varies When you plot (as opposed to compute with, in an expression) a quantity such as emw Ex, you only see the real part in your plot But if you multiply field components together, Comsol multiplies the complex numbers together
- Expression of instantaneous electric field, normEi. - COMSOL
Dear all, I am using Wave optics physics, Electromagnetic Waves, frequency domain (ewfd) and trying plot out the E field I get confused when compared ewfd normE (Electrec field norm) and ewfd normEi (instantaneous electric field norm)

- Averaging in frequency domain vs averaging in time dependent study - COMSOL
My question is, is the average obtained from the frequency domain study equivalent to a time-averaged surface average normE in the time-dependent study over several periods?
- Defination about two parameters, gop. I and gop. normE, in the . . . - COMSOL
Recently, when I was conducting a simple model about the light refraction with p-polarization on an interface between two isotropic dielectric media, the defination of two exported parameters gop I and gop normE puzzles me
- How to plot the electric field of circular polarized light? - COMSOL
Hello I simulate a meta-surface model when a circular polarized light is normal incident, the polarization state of transmitted light is circular polarized too, and how can I plot the transmitted electric field of circular polarized and light? Could the "expression" in the "plot" be written as "ewfd Ex+i*ewfd Ey"? it could be explained intuitively in attach file
