Do "EarPlanes" really work? I've seen these earplug devices advertised to equalize the pressure on either side of the eardrum while flying I have alergies and nearly every week I can feel the pressure changes not only in my ears, but in my sinuses -- it's a really strange feeling when your sinus cavity "pops" like your eardrum normally does

Unless you're using Earplanes for pressure, I would use single use (really can use multiple times) foam ear plugs instead Earplanes have plastic flanges that for me get uncomfortable after a while and have both a lower dB attenuation rating and are noticeably louder than foam ear plugs

I've got a lot of flying coming up during the next several weeks and am in early stages of cold In past, I've had some terrible times with ears on ascent and descent I dose up with Afrin and Sudafed, and find only moderate relief Have you used EarPlanes? Travel Products - Earplanes are useless - I am so turned off by this product that I feel I have to warn others to not waste money on them I will first say that I am not using this for the putative air pressure ear pain issue that they claim to remedy Which, by the way, I am highly skeptical of in its own right -
