Models also work as a namespace So everyting that has to do with references, parameteres per model lie onto this structure For example the reference "this_model cube" is a relative reference pointing to the cube mesh inside the same model of the object that uses it There may exist other meshes named "cube" inside other models, but only one exculusive name per model or scene root

I don't think that had much of anything to do with XSI's demise Truth is, Autodesk bought it off of AVID for a few million because it was dirt cheap They were probably intrigued with getting the ICE code and FACEROBOT stuff ported over to MAYA in one way or another They already owned two 3D

Thanks for responding Michael Yeah I love the way dynamite looks for those big billowing puffs of fire I suppose I can just use 9 6 or 10 0 and just composite it in later, I should be able to just use the mdd animation as place holders in 9 6 and use that as reference for where to put the fire
