I'm looking to buy a new microscope for reflected transmitted light brightfield microscopy (no fluorescence, polarization, etc); just basic imaging to resolve 10um objects in some detail I only have experience with top-line Zeiss and Leica microscopes, but those are rather expensive

Omax: some reviews state that the irreplaceable (without soldering) led light have burnt out very quickly On the OMAX side, the listed one is cheaper and comes with slides and extras Plus it looks robust For the swift, I have seen less complaints and ot seems like the LED is good Thoughts appreciated!

The Omax and B120 almost certainly have the exact same objectives, so you can probably expect equivalent optical performance Most people consider the sidentopf head on the B120 to be a step up in usability over the Jentch head in the Omax and, in general, Omax is the brand United Scope uses for cheaper microscopes

Yup OMAX used this thing called 5 axis board up until late ‘00s Think of it as the nervous system Computer feeds info into it and it gets distributed to the servo cards which in turn engage the motors from there At some point they could not get the boards from the vendor or something and were forced into a new design So the new 9 axis boards they use were scrambled from scratch and
