- Headlight upgrade: which bulb? - Tacoma World
Crashnburn80's ultimate headlight upgrade is more work than I would care to put in right now So that leaves me trying to decide between the Philips RacingVision GT200 or the Osram Night Breaker 200 bulbs Which would you choose or is there a better option for a stock wattage H4 bulb?

Sylvania and Osram are or used to be part of the same company I've also seem Osram stamped on PIAA, Hella, and Phillips bulbs, so at best, you're getting second-best from those brands

The Osram 64205 was the 70 65w version of the discontinued Hypers, which were also made in the 85 80w spec posted at the start of the thread World's best H4 9003 is a big claim, I was very curious to see how these measured up

Also note Osram is Toyotas OEM headlight bulb supplier, so they meet Toyota’s strict product quality standards See how they compare to the Chinese knockoffs here These are a high wattage, high efficiency bulb, meaning they increase output and extend distance projection There is an AllSeason version of this 85 80w bulb, see how it compares

The sweet spot IMO for Halogens is probably just where the Osram Rallye was [ I burned out my second pair ] [ no more available ] about 75 to 78 watts on high beam at 13 5 volts and about 2200 2400 lumens And about 1500 on low

Osram +200 (left) vs Philips German H9 swap (right) The Philips H9s put down 10 5% higher peak intensity while also costing a fraction of the price, though the color temp is more traditional halogen vs the slightly whiter performance H11s Repeated special thanks to @Umpqua79 for donating these Osram bulbs for testing
