- [GameRant] Valnet Inc. Acquires OpenCritic. com, Expanding Gaming . . .
On behalf of Valnet, Inc, I am excited to officially announce the acquisition of OpenCritic com, the leading video game review aggregator on the internet OpenCritic is well-known for giving gaming enthusiasts clear, unbiased aggregation of game reviews, proving an invaluable service to the gaming industry as a whole Established in 2015, OpenCritic aggregates ratings from various trusted
- Avowed - Review Thread - ResetEra
Avowed succeeds in drawing players in with its atmospheric world and intriguing gameplay, but it falls short of reaching true greatness It's a fun experience for those craving a new first-person fantasy RPG, but it lacks that special spark that turns a good RPG into an unforgettable one
- What review aggregator do you prefer? Opencritic or Metacritic?
I prefer Opencritic over Metacritic; Weighted scores don't make much sense to me and I like that there's no user reviews on OC since review bombing of user scores has lost its significance to properly inform customers since, like, 2020

- Doom: The Dark Ages - Review Thread - ResetEra
Opencritic has 73 reviews counted altogether for an aggregated score in the high 80s, whereas Metacritic has an extremely close split of PC and PS5 reviews, the latter of which has a few more reviews counted -- and ironically has most of the mixed ones rolled in for a low 80s
- Pokemon Legends: Z-A - Review Thread - ResetEra
Years ago, I said that Pokemon Legends: Arceus proved that there was room in the Pokemon world for more games like Pokemon Colosseum to exist, and to even thrive While Pokemon Legends: Z-A wasn't quite what I had in mind, it feels like validation nonetheless Pokemon is at its best when Gamefreak is allowed to experiment with what a Pokemon game can actually be, and Pokemon Legends: Z-A is an
