I have owned cj preamps (starting with the PV5) and amps (starting with the MV75A1) and have never had a problem with tubes in any of the units The only problems were with the muting circuits in Premier 3s PV5s and once had a resistor go in an 8 year old MV75 that was replaced immediately without charge

I had an older model, PV5, so the PV12 is newer One thing to note with the older tube preamps is they can have a bit more background noise tube hiss vs the latest tube models

The PV5 allows for full choice of stereo channels; Stereo-Mono-Reverse-Right Only-Left Only If found these choices to be very useful when listening to vintage mono LPs While Mono was useful, I sometimes found that choosing between the Right -or- Left channels allowed me to find the best sounding portion of a mono LP groove
