I've been with peapod for 5 years im making just over 14$ an hour part time its refreshing that you are appreciative of something vs nothing and that you understnad a tip is optional i've been using peapod for over 5 years and i tip (not always handsomely) but i tip and offer water especially with the summers we have around here

A 15' peapod of that weight (120-150 lbs) will be likely quite low-sided, moreso than your 17' Sid Skiff Yet you want to be able to climb back aboard three miles offshore where presumably it could be pretty rough near a reef

The Peapod driver came in with an attitude and then stopped me on the way out He showed me my receipt and angrily told me, "see this amount for the tip, I don't get that" I said, "what? Giant doesn't give you your tip?" He tells me they take some of it so the little amount I gave him was nothing I couldn't believe how confrontational he was

A peapod was my first trad planking job after quite a few plywood boats And I taught myself, really Right out of Chapelle's book That was the text they used at Bates when I went there a few years later I think a pod with easy bilges is the best for a first boat Lap-ply boats are great for trailering and doing the urban boater thing but I bet a lot more builders would

Re: sailing a peapod without rudder and centerboard I sail my 10' Bequia dingy (which many confuse with a peapod) sometimes wo a rudder, but wo the board would be tricky indeed!

Does anyone know of any plans designs for a 15-16' plywood lapstrake rowing peapod besides D Hylan's Beach Pea? I am trying to find a traditionally built peapod that can be done lapstrake ply with the idea of gluing the laps but doing the rest as would be done traditionally To be used to teach boat building Cheers, Clint Chase
