- Seth Thomas Grandfather Clock Pendulum Suspension
I have a ST grandmother clock that needs a pendulum suspension The original part was missing when I bought the clock that also had a broken suspension spring The distance from the suspension spring and the top of the inside of the case is ~7" Timesavers sells a universal pendulum leader
- Precision Pendulum Clock, Konrad Marwitz, Munich - NAWCC Forums
The pendulum is quite light, the cylinders are hollow and apparently were at some juncture filled with lead pellets, a few fell out when opening the cylinders Interestingly, there are conflicting opinions between real experts on whether the pendulum body in a precision clock shall be rather light or rather heavy
- Pendulum does not keep swinging - NAWCC Forums
Remember the clock movement powers the pendulum, the pendulum does not power the clock The fact that the clock runs with the pendulum off indicates that all the internal moving parts are free to move If the pendulum swings and there is no tic-toc sounds then the clock isn't running at all - the pendulum, for lack of a better word, is just
- HOW A PENDULUM CLOCK WORKS - NAWCC Forums
The pendulum hangs from a flat suspension spring, and swings freely But the rod or leader of the pendulum passes loosely through a loop in the end of the crutch
- Pendulum stops after 10-15 minutes - NAWCC Forums
However, the pendulum does swing in a diagonal back to front motion rather than just side to side If you’re looking at the clock face and start the pendulum by moving it to the right, it will then swing to the left and back slightly, then to the right and forward slightly

No missing pendulum Here are 2 photos from BEFORE cleaning: And one after cleaning The original measurement of 8325 BPH was after cleaning and running well, keeping pretty accurate time I have tried adjusting the pendulum rod nut down till the measurement reading was near 8277 on my clock tuner app, but it was losing several minutes per day at that rate So, I am going back to the 8325 rate
- Beat Setting 101 - NAWCC Forums
The pendulum passes back and forth across the beat-center in its progression from tick to tock and back The clock is in beat when the beat-center is perfectly vertical: tick and tock impulses are delivered at the exact bottom of the pendulum swing
