Looking for anyone that knows Pioneer Boats and any advice I have looked at the 197 Islander which is a new boat for an all around boater I know nothing about the company nor their boats So any recommendations and advice are welcome I know the Gradey White and Boston Whalers are supposedly the best but the price is; well I believe, extremely high even for a used one I liked the looks of

The Pioneer 220 is well established as having a great ride, and they just look awesome with the hardtop, to me If you're buying an older one (pre-2020), the deck layout may seem a little antiquated by today's standards

In summary, I believe Pioneer picked the right areas to “cut corners” if you will, because if you’re handy, the wiring can be easily addressed, as well as thru-bolting of the hardware if necessary They put their effort in the areas of hull construction, fit and finish, and component quality, which is a trade-off I was willing to accept
