The Boating Forum - 18 parker build need help - i have a 1989 18 parker that i am looking to close the transom i have looked and cant find much but these boats are light in the bow my question is if i closed the transom and installed a bracket and tabs would that be to much weight off the back making it porpoise or

The bracket adds major sandbar appeal for me But proposing and wet feet are not cool If I do go with a bracket, I'll add 5° of negative trim to help with that possible (porpoise) issue I've had great luck with gemlux deck drains that have a built in ball no need for the ugly balls on the transom

Must be a thing with 2 footers to be prone to porpoise Pathfinder 20ft was known or it as well I had one some time ago and on the pathfinder forum alot of people corrected it by running a power tech SCD 4 blade prop Thats the prop I had them put on when it was delivered and I never had any issues FishClaw 12-03-2024 07:21 PM

By having more lift in the stern and more trim control he will be able to stop the porpoising very easily I don't think cats porpoise any more than mono hulls do, it depends on the hull shape and weight distribution, to much weight at the stern and the faster you go the more likely you are to porpoise

I have a 1989 kencraft Challenger 215 There is very little information about this boat out there, I keep on coming up with a story of the factory burnt to the ground does anybody have a spec sheet on this boat, particularly the maximum horsepower rating? I'd appreciate any additional information
