Proin has worked well for my 2 5yr old I do not doubt it may have affected a 10yr old dog differently I do think that you have to be careful with older dogs (I have a 12 5 yr old Boxer as well)-- and just be aware that all meds have EFFECTS and SIDE EFFECTS that individual animals are more or less capable of handling

Regarding Proin and urinary incontinence, I don't think it can help in our case, based on my (unprofessional) opinion - because her urinary incontinence is caused by nerve damage, not caused by hormonal issues spaying Any advice or tips are welcomed, as this is the first incontinent dog we're taking care of

1) Phenylpropanolamine (Proin, PPA, etc ) is an amphetamine used to treat incontinence It is relatively affordable but must be dosed more frequently than most of the other drugs available (rarely you can use it daily but most patients require twice daily or occasionally every three-time per day dosing)
