- QHY or ZWO? : r AskAstrophotography - Reddit
Both have tec cooling, the qhy is $100 cheaper and comes with tec power cable With zwo, I would have to source the power cable myself on top of the additional $100 ASIair is the only thing that is really making me hesitate, I don’t have one now but I might want one in the future Any advice? Current equipment: -canon t7i unmodded -eq6-r pro
- Is it worth going the ZWO route? : r AskAstrophotography - Reddit
QHY also have dew heaters for the camera sensor built-in QHY invented dedicated astronomy cameras The ones that ZWO sells are literally copies of QHY’s designs The ASIAir is also made with open source software but they refuse to credit the projects used or release source code

- QHY163M or Zwo asi 1600M-pro?! with my setup : r . . . - Reddit
Used QHY 163M with CFW2-S filter wheel (would be cheaper than getting a new 1600M) New Zwo asi 1600M-Pro (wouldn't have the money to afford the filter wheel + it would probably take 3+ months to arrive here in Brazil) So i would need to use a filter holder that i 3d printed to be able to use those 36mm filters

- ZWO Alternatives : r AskAstrophotography - Reddit
Currently ZWO and QHY are the big players in the CMOS realm There are alternatives using the same sensors such as the ones from Altair, ToupTek, Orion, etc, but you will not see the same level of support as you do from the top two As far as drivers go, modern QHY camera drivers are perfectly fine
- Filter wheel : r AskAstrophotography - Reddit
An IMX 571 (qhy 268 or asi2600) has a diagonal of 28 4mm The aperture of the carousel is determined by the 28 5mm thread (about 28mm aperture) to support the 1 25" filters This means that, regardless of the distance to the sensor or the telescopes focal length, you will lose ~50% of the light at the corners of the sensor with a 31mm filter
- ZWO Asiair alternative : r AskAstrophotography - Reddit
I am looking for a Astro camera and looking at alternatives to ZWO There is QHY and Orion They don't seem to have any devices like asiair, I see driver downloads but no application downloads What software controls the camera, mount, filter wheels And electronic focuses? I am also wondering which of the three is better
