UQ is much harder and more knowledge textbook based whereas QUT is more hands on with assignments I've studied Engineering at both Universities and preferred QUT because it was easier (I prefer assignments over exams)

Dw dude I had the same issue, the uni sent me a show cause, I completed it and it was the kick in the ass I needed, is a definite struggle to get your grades back to a 4, and to get your GPA to a 4 again you have to out perform in the next subjects to compensate for the fails, but it's achievable, just start managing your time better, focus, spend time with your friends when the sems finished
