An R1 is not made for 2-up riding other than occasional short trips, and then only if it's your 2nd wife and shes in her early 20's In that case you'll probably have more kids on the way and you'll have to sell the bike anyway Get something made for the job, if a Yammie, then FJ-09 seems a good choice Bold blue comments are 100% on the money

The R1 is stronger in top gears and flat out * didn't had a chance to tune the chassis on the 954 but the R1 is soft and definatly a limiting factor on the track Can imagine that the 954 suffer from the same softiness * Both bikes need a steering dampener (when power goes down the front goes light) * Quality of both bikes is high
