He’s actually completely right You can drop r410a into a r32 system without much issue The only problem you might run into is a R32 compressor has less displacement than 410a so you would be down capacity With all that said though, there is a reason units are specified with a particular refrigerant I would not recommend doing this unless you really know what you are doing or if it’s in

I need a new unit and know that Puron (r410a) is going to start getting phased out in the next few years Companies like Carrier and Lennox said they were going to completely switch over to one of the two by January 1st 2023 but I haven't seen jack about it actually happening
