- Rectilinear III - Specs, Freq. Response and Original Price
The Rectilinear IIIs are more like my B W DM14 speakers (late 70s) A rich, full range sound that is very balanced Smooth, nice high-end, both speakers are excellent in offering exceptional midrange - female vocal, jazz music, the mids really are lush and nice The Rec IIIs have a bigger low end compared to the B Ws or the Klipsch
- How good are Rectilinear III Highboys . . . REALLY?
I have a chance to get a pair of Rectilinear III Highboys I posted in D S about the price, but wanted to ask for comments about their sound, and how they compare with other speakers I've been reading mostly good things about these, but some of the online reviews are less kind than most
- Rectilinear III Description (long) - Audiokarma Home Audio Stereo . . .
Rectilinear directly pointed a finger at JBL by stating the new "West Coast Sound' was inaccurate with overly bright midrange and boomy bass, which was a fact IMHO, when these two speakers are compared side by side, the model III simply outperforms the JBL L100 4311 in all areas plus allows for hours of non-fatiguing enjoyment

The midrange drivers are also correct for late series 5a's and were used only in the final production run of the 5a models before they were discontinued The mids in your units quite possibly offer superior sound quality compared to the whizzer cone equipped Philips units used in all the earlier versions of the Rectilinear 5
- Rectilinear XI Speakers - Audiokarma Home Audio Stereo Discussion Forums
3 Rectilinear changed designs at least once throughout the XI's production So if you have speakers that are not consecutive serial numbers, you may notice some differences between the two speakers that will affect sound quality For example, my 2 speakers have serials #125019 and 124591
- Rectilinear Research XLA crossover - Audiokarma Home Audio Stereo . . .
Rectilinear made XI, XIa and XIg, with the phenolic tweeters in the XIg, so probably minor differences in crossover The capacitor is primarily for the tweeter, so woofer version shouldn't (but you never know) make any difference
